The Twins of Fate (Part V)
by Teacher Christine

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Palace**

The sweet, floral _________________ of the roses beckon Genei to take a walk in the castle gardens.  As he approaches the marble fountain at the center, Genei’s scarlet gaze returns to the stars, Vega and Altair, in the night sky above.  When he turns back to look at the fountain, an image taking form on the water’s surface catches his attention as he leans closer to the fountain’s edge.  The image on the water’s surface begins to solidify into the shape of a young woman with long and wavy baby blue hair, and skin as pale as the moonlight.  Two large, doe-like amethyst eyes set above a slender nose stare back into his scarlet eyes as if in fear, and then in wonder.

Beautiful… pretty… gorgeous… dazzling… bewitching… angelic… appealing… alluring…no words seem to be able to capture her, Genei thinks to himself.

As he gets lost in the amethyst eyes of the mysterious beauty, she suddenly flinches backwards and stares at something in front of her that is unseen to Genei.  He reaches out a pale hand to the water as if to grab onto her arm, but as soon as his fingers touch her, the water’s surface ripples and her image disappears in an instant.

“Princess…” he murmurs to himself, as the gears in his mind starts to piece together the information he just received from the water’s surface.  He ponders to himself: The princess and I were able to see each other through a body of water as the medium.  Based on the cave walls behind her, she must be in the Sinister Caves, which houses the Lake of Desires.   Only that lake could possibly connect her to me, through my strong desire to see my fated one.

Genei suddenly heads for the Palace in search of Tomo.  He realizes that if she is at the Lake of Desires, she could be in grave danger with the guardian that lurks within the Sinister Caves.

~A few moments ago…~

Tomo makes his way through the elegant halls of the palace, which would be a nightmare to navigate through to anybody without a good sense of direction or good memory, to reach the throne room.  Just as he was about to proceed with his Lord’s orders to search for the Twins of Fate, sightings of them reached his ear.  Honoo, leader of the small party of knights patrolling the villages in the southern region, relayed a message a few minutes ago through the Mahou of Silent Communication, stating that he had news on the Twins of Fate.  Tomo quickens his footsteps and finally reaches the throne room.  As he passes through the gigantic marble doors, Tomo slows his steps and strolls in to find the red-headed, big build of a man standing before the throne with a large hand covering his eyes.  At the sound of his footsteps, Honoo straightens up, pulls his hand away from his black eyes, and salutes Tomo.

“Speak.” Tomo commands, as his icy cerulean eyes demand Honoo to explain his message.

Honoo stands in the salute position as he begins to retell his story of his pursuit of the thief, and his chance encounter with two extremely beautiful people, who appear to mirror one another.  He explains how the boy and the accompanying knight had supernatural strength compared to his own party of ROYGBIV knights, and describes how the entrancing girl and the thief separated from the boys and headed for the Sinister Caves.  He then goes on to apologize for his and his men’s failure to _________________ their missions of catching the thief and the twins.  “I believe these two are the Twins of Fate that you mentioned,” sums up Honoo, as he finishes his report.  “I came to ask for reinforcements to go into the caves to capture the thief and the twins,” he continues.

“Permission grante-” begins Tomo, just as his silver-haired Lord bursts into the throne room.  Tomo and Honoo turn to gaze at their Lord, who appears to be in a rush as he charges right at the two.

“Tomo, get ready to bring the Indigo Knights to the Sinister Caves.  We are going to retrieve my princess.”  commands Genei with a stern voice.

Tomo’s and Honoo’s eyes widen in surprise at their Lord’s command, but Tomo quickly understands his Lord’s urgency and replies with a bow, “As my Lord commands, it shall be done.”

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Sinister Caves**

Doro paces a few feet away from the largest cave’s entrance and debates whether or not to follow after Murasaki, who disappeared a few moments ago.  It would be _________________ to rush into the caves without backup, she thinks to herself.  What can she possibly hope to achieve on her own, when she feared going into the caves by herself in the first place, and thus approached Murasaki’s group for help.  As her mind continues to debate, a strong wind passes her by and steals the breath from her lungs.  When she finally opens her eyes and clears her pink hair from her face, her pink gaze falls upon Aoi, Naito, and a small green-haired boy.

Doro sighs in relief, and then Aoi jogs up to her and asks, “Where’s my sister?”  He looks around Doro frantically.

“Ummm…well..you see…there was thumping…and a force—” Doro begins as she shifts her weight from foot to foot, when she is suddenly cut off by Naito.

“Stop your meaningless rambling and get to the point!” Naito commands, with his jade-green narrowing on her like daggers.

“Murasaki flew into the caves all of a sudden, like something was pulling her in.” Doro corrects herself.

“We’re going in.” Aoi replies without missing a heartbeat, as he turns and heads straight for the cave.  He slows to a stop after a few paces and turns back to question, “Which entrance was it?”

“And that is my new master,” Sui groans, as he makes his way past Aoi and heads right for the largest cave entrance.  “I picked up your sister’s scent from you earlier and can faintly detect traces of her path through the caves,” he continues as he enters the cave.  He pauses to look back at them and points into the depths of the cave and warns, “However, there is a sickeningly sweet fragrance coating the entire place, so keep up and watch out for the Jorougumo.  None of her victims have made it out to tell the tale, but based on my sources, the Jorougumo keeps any adventurers seeking the Mahou of Alternate Dimensions captive in her web of deceptions and feeds off of their energy for an eternity.”  “Whatever you do,” Sui emphasizes, “DO NOT GET BITTEN BY HER.”

Sui faces forward again, satisfied by the tense look on the others’ faces, as they nodded in agreement and follow him in.

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Sinister Caves, Lake of Desires**

Murasaki tears her eyes away from the silver-haired gentleman with scarlet eyes reflected on the lake’s surface to gaze across the lake.  Giggling sounds emerge as three little balls of white light flit about the surface of the water and draw nearer to her. Murasaki freezes in fright, as her heart thumps quicker and quicker in her chest.  Mofu ruffles its feathers and lets out a low sound in warning at the balls of light, in response to Murasaki’s fear.

We have a visitor!” tinkles a tiny voice, like bells chiming in the wind.

We have a visitor!” echoes another tiny voice, like a wind chime, in agreement.

How long has it been since we had one!?” questions yet another voice from one of the balls of white light.

When the three balls of light reach Murasaki, she is able to make out the outline of three tiny fairies fluttering about, glowing from within like little fireflies.

“We are the Mahou of Alternate Dimensions!” the three identical golden-haired fairies proclaim in unison.

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Sinister Caves**

After walking through the dark caves for a seemingly long time, Aoi asks Sui, “How much further do we need to go?  Is there any way we go any faster?”  His face looks drained as he states, “I’m worried about my sister.”

Sui retorts, “Your sister seems to be really deep within these caves, so it’ll still be awhile until we reach her.  Also, if we go any faster, one of you will twist an ankle on this uneven, damp ground.”

Doro chimes in, “Maybe we can ride on my Mahou of Witch’s Broomstick to go faster?”

Naito responds from behind Sui, with his flame lighting the way, “It is too dark and narrow to navigate through these dark passages safely on your broom.  Our fastest and safest bet is on foot.”

Doro sighs and remarks, “I really do hope nothing happened to her.  Let’s think positively.  Maybe she bypassed all the dangers and reached the Mahou of Alternate Dimensions?”

Aoi turns back to her from behind Naito and fixes his ice blue gaze on her, saying with a small, strained smile, “You are so optimistic.  I can only pray that she’s safe and that we’ll find her soon.”

After passing through many passages that forked off into multiple passages, Aoi’s group finally makes it to a large chamber in the cave, with the cave ceiling reaching at least 30 feet high.  Sui stops in the chamber and stares at the dark passage leading onward into the darkness.  “Shhhh,” he whispers in warning.”

The silhouette of a woman appears from the darkness beyond and _________________ s closer to the group.  Only the sound of the swishing of her dress and the clinking of her heels can be heard throughout the caves.  At the snap of her fingers, the torches lining the cave walls light up and illuminate the chamber.  A gorgeous, black-haired woman, appearing to be in her early thirties and clothed in an elegant whitish-gray, floor-length ball gown, stops a few feet away from the group.  As her gaze roams over the faces in the group, her large black eyes seem to lock onto Aoi, and she licks her ruby red lips.

“It is such a pleasure to welcome you to my home,” hisses the gorgeous creature in a husky voice.  She then blinks her large eyes slowly and offers her hand out to Aoi with a smile, “Please come join me for dinner.”  Aoi makes no movement to grab her hand, so she lowers her arm down.  She looks at the rest of the group and continues with a chilling smile,  “You’re all just in time for it.”

The Twins of Fate (Part IV)
by Teacher Christine

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Palace**

Staring at the night sky through the ceiling made entirely of clear glass, Genei bathes in the warm comfort of his luxury fur pelts on his enormous bed.  Genei hasn’t been this excited since he extinguished the reign of the fallen king, Sekai.  As Genei seeks out the stars, Vega and Altair, he recalls the legend of the two deities, Orihime and Hikoboshi, who were lovers separated by the Milky Way and could only meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month.  The two stars that represent the two lovers eventually make his mind wander to the mysterious girl he is destined to love.  He shuts his scarlet eyes and tries to imagine how she looks like, to no avail, as even the most attractive female in the kingdom has never moved his heart of ice.

All of a sudden, Genei rises from his bed and makes his way to the adjacent room.  Genei’s pale hands shove open the large double doors and he finds Tomo sitting on the cushioned chair in front of the fireplace, reading a novel.  Tomo shuts his book immediately and rises from his seat and quickly bows.  He then straightens himself and gazes at his Lord with a curious look in his cerulean eyes.  “How may I help you, my Lord?” Tomo inquires.

Genei runs his fingers through his silver hair and sighs, admitting, “I can’t get the Fortune Teller’s words out of my head.  I feel alive, more alive than I have felt in the past 16 years.”  He paces on the rug in front of the fireplace and continues, “I want you to go out and find these Twins of Fate.  According to the Fortune Teller, these twins are the children of King Sekai and Queen Umi.  If the children look anything like their parents, they should have pale skin with hair and eyes as blue as the sky, or pale skin with hair and eyes as purple as an amethyst.”  Genei stops pacing and looks into the red and orange flames dancing within the fireplace and commands in a soft yet firm voice, “Find them and bring them before me, alive.  Also, make sure that the girl is not harmed.  Although she may be the end of me, she may be my fated one.”

Tomo kneels before his Lord and bows his head, his platinum blonde hair appearing reddish-orange as it reflects the flames, replying: “As my Lord commands, it shall be done.”

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Grassy Hills**

From the dark forests beyond, five figures finally emerge and approach Aoi and Murasaki’s group with caution.  Once they are only 12 feet away, the five male figures stop and address the group, stating, “Hand over the thief and go along your merry way.  Don’t even think about meddling in our affairs or else you’ll end up regretting it.”

Naito observes the five men standing before them and quickly recognizes the pursuers to consist of one Red Knight, two Orange Knights, and two Yellow Knights.  Luckily, the knights are in the lower tier of the ROYGBIV army, so they do not pose much of a threat to him.  Naito picks out the leader of the group, a Yellow Knight with a large build and a quiet demeanor, who silently sizes up Naito’s group with his cool black gaze.  Naito looks straight at the red-haired leader and inquires, “What proof do you have that this young lady stole anything from you?  She doesn’t look like someone who would pickpocket a group of intimidating knights, does she?”

The other Yellow Knight steps forward, with an irritated look on his face as his brown eyes seethe and he jabs a chunky finger at Doro, thundering, “That thief took my Mahou right from under my nose at the restaurant in the town past this forest!  She pretended to have an interest in me, and snatched my Mahou right off my wrist while I wasn’t paying attention.”  He runs both of his chubby hands over his dark brown hair, turns to Naito and fumes, “ How are you going to _________________ me for my loss?  You better give me more than just my Mahou and the thief.”

Doro starts to twirl a few of her pink strands around her finger and looks at him with disgust.  She sneers at him and rants, “I can’t believe you thought I’d ever be interested in a greedy plump pig.”  “You know this Mahou you claim to be yours,” she asks while dangling a thin silver chain with delicate swirly designs engraved on it between her fingers, “belonged to a girl in that town.  She promised I could _________________ it from her right before you stole it from her.”  Doro scoffs at the fat Yellow Knight and taunts, “Who’s the thief now, Pork Chops?”

The fat Yellow Knight shakes with anger, as his face turns a dangerous shade of red, showing how offended he is by Doro’s comments.  The Leader steps in and points out, “With the reign of Lord Genei, the buying and selling of Mahou has been _________________ed among those who have not proven their loyalties to Lord Genei.  Therefore, the transaction you and that town girl were about to do,” the Leader remarks while gazing at Doro calmly, “would have resulted in both of you residing in the dungeons.  With you alone stealing the Mahou, though, saved that girl from imprisonment and only calls for your arrest.”

After listening to the conversations long enough, Aoi clenches his fists, fixes his baby blue eyes on the fat Yellow Knight, and reasons, “I understand how Doro committed an offense toward you, Mr. Pork Chops, but you have to try looking at things from her perspective.  I do think that offenders need to recompense those they harm, but in this case, Doro isn’t totally wrong because she was just retrieving the Mahou that was stolen from an innocent, powerless girl.”

Murasaki puts a cool, delicate, pale hand on her brother’s shoulder and steps out from Naito’s and Aoi’s shadows, standing in between them and in plain view of the five knights.  She looks to the fives knights and chimes in, “I agree with what he said.”  Mofu, her white puffy snowball of a guardian owl, chirps in agreement while perched on her shoulder.  Murasaki coaxes on in her sweet, melodious voice, “How can you expect a bystander to do nothing when somebody is being wronged like that?”

Although Murasaki posed a question, only silence replies, as the five knights are paralyzed and stupefied by Murasaki’s presence.  Doro notes to herself how Murasaki’s ability to entrance others can come in handy, as she grins to herself at finding a dependable ally.  After an eternity seems to pass by, the Leader finally replies, “I’m afraid we can’t let this offense slide, young lady.”  His eyes soften as he continues, “Please step aside. We wouldn’t want to get you involved.”

All of a sudden, a matching ring that is worn by all five of the knights start to glow and the knights appear to be listening intently to a voice that only they can hear.  With this distraction, Naito and Aoi exchange glances and nod at one another.  “Doro, lead Murasaki to the caves first,” commands Naito in a stern voice.  “I’ll bring Aoi soon after we deal with these knights.”

“Roger!” Doro chirps in a bright voice, as she turns in the direction of the caves and starts to pull Murasaki behind her.  Doro turns back and winks at the boys, yelling, “Meetcha there!” She then touches one of the many rings of Mahou on her finger to summon her flying broom, jumping on and stretching out an arm to help Murasaki up.  Murasaki pulls herself onto the flying broom with ease and secures herself behind Doro by wrapping her arms lightly around her new friend.

The knights begin to stir as they register the information Tomo sent to all the members of the ROYGBIV army.  The Leader thinks to himself, the Twins of Fate who should look similar to their parents, the late King Sekai and the late Queen Umi, around the age of 16.  The two young beautiful strangers seem to fit that physical description.  Just as the Leader tries to seek out the beautiful fey-like creature with mysterious violet eyes, he witnesses her and the thief levitating on a flying broom.

Mofu hops off of Murasaki’s shoulder and hovers in front of her face, as if to say, follow me.  Mofu takes flight and disappears in a flash, and Doro leans forward as the broom shoots forward in pursuit of the white puffy snowball.

The Leader of the knights retains a bit of the conversation he vaguely overheard the blackish-blue hair man say to the thief and pieces the information together.  Naito notices the Leader’s facial expressions and understands that the man has figured out that the caves nearest to their current location must be the ones in which the Mahou of Alternate Dimensions resides in.  However, before the Leader can command his knights to go to the caves, Naito and Aoi charge forward and attack the knights.

Aoi heads straight for Mr. Pork Chops while Naito heads right for the Leader.  Aoi lands a punch right in the center of Mr. Pork Chops’ stomach, causing the fat Yellow Knight to fly into the Orange and Red knights behind him, like a bowling ball ramming into bowling pins at a high speed.  “Striiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike!!!!!!!” exclaims Aoi, as the knights fly far back and roll to a stop, apparently knocked out since they finally remain unmoving on the ground many feet away.

On the other hand, the Leader narrowly dodges Naito’s skilled flame attack, avoiding being scorched at the last second.  After witnessing the two superpowers before him, the Leader decides to report the situation back to headquarters and uses his Mahou of Escape, disappearing from the grasslands and teleporting back to the palace.

Aoi turns to look at Naito with wide baby blue eyes, inquiring, “Did that dude just teleport?” as he circles the plush grass the Leader was standing upon just a moment before in utter amazement.  “Teleportation exists here?” he further prods.

“Yes,” replies Naito, “and it is a rather troublesome skill for the enemy to have.”  “We must hurry and regroup with Murasaki and Doro before the reinforcements come for us.  Looking at that Leader, he went back to the Palace to call for more powerful knights to aid him on his mission to arrest Doro.”  Naito sighs as he looks in the direction of the caves, “The trouble is, though, Doro’s flying broom is quite fast.  How are we going to catch up to them before they reach the caves?  A sinister, ancient creature resides within, and it’s not safe for them to enter alone.”

All of a sudden, a gust of wind starts to pick up and the grass start to sing.

BOOM!!!

A large impact, like a comet crashing into the ground, occurred just a few feet in front of the two, and Naito and Aoi cautiously approach to peer at the source of the crash.  A pale young boy with jade green shoulder-length hair and greenish-blue eyes, seeming to be around the age of six, gazes back at them.  “You are my master!?” asks the boy with a look of disbelief as he takes in Aoi.

Naito glances at Aoi and smirks, “Looks like you have a spunky Seiryuu, or wingless flying dragon, as your guardian Aoi.”

Aoi’s jaw drops as he gapes at the tiny green-haired boy, wondering how the boy can be a dragon.  Nevertheless, he flashes a brilliant smile at the tiny boy, dressed in a light blue yukata with golden lotuses embroidered throughout, and offers an outstretched hand.  He bends over, placing his other hand on his knee as he beams, “Nice to meet you! I’m Aoi, and I am super excited to have a dragon as my very own guardian!”

The tiny green-haired boy squints at Aoi’s outstretched hand right before he smacks it away.  “How dare you talk down to me like that!?  I am way older than you can ever imagine, even though I have a child’s appearance.  I cannot believe I have to serve an ignorant child like you!” the tiny dragon complains.

“Oh, I’m sor-,” Aoi starts, but then quickly corrects himself as he continues, “my apologies, oh reverent, ancient dragon.  It is a pleasure to have someone, as wise and mighty as yourself, serving me and guiding me.”  Aoi can’t wipe the brilliant smile from his face, as he then inquires, “What is your name?  Can you fly fast?”  His face turns into a concerned one as he remembers his sister’s plight, as he then asks, “Can you do us a favor and catch up to my sister?”

The green-haired dragon stares at Aoi for what seems to be an eternity before he finally replies, “It would enrage me if you start calling me weird names, so I will give you my name.  I am called Suigyoku.  You can call me Sui.”  Sui smirks at Aoi and continues, “I have extreme power over the realm of water and am unrivaled when flying in my dragon form.”

All of a sudden, a dazzling, warm light envelopes Sui’s tiny body, as he morphs into a humongous, majestic, wingless jade green dragon, around five feet tall and sixteen feet long, in the matter of a few seconds.  Sui beckons to Aoi and Naito with a three-clawed paw and urges, “Quickly hop on.  We will catch up to this sister of yours in no time.”

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Sinister Caves**

After traveling a few miles over the quiet grasslands, the warm summer night air gently tugs through Murasaki’s long baby blue curls as the flying broom comes to a stop at their destination.  Doro and Murasaki hop off the broom, surveying the area.  Mofu lands on Murasaki’s shoulder and ruffles its feathers while scanning the surroundings for impending danger.  Murasaki absentmindedly runs her fingers over Mofu’s fluffy snowball body and listens intently.  She turns to Doro and states, “Not even the sound of animals inhabiting the land can be heard.  This silence is eerie.”  Although usually calm and collected, Murasaki did not do well with horror movies, haunted mansions, ghosts, zombies, and anything creepy.

Doro looks serious for once, as she fixes her pink eyes on the largest cave entrance and answers, “I’ve heard rumors about the danger that lurks within these caves.  Any living beings that live around these caves are in hiding at nighttime since the dangerous monster that guards the Mahou of Alternate Dimensions is most active at night.”  Doro turns her pink gaze to Murasaki, as she commands, “Be careful and always stick close to me.  We’ll wait for your brother and Naito before we dare enter the caves though.  I’m not that dumb to jump headfirst into danger, unprepared and with little manpower.”

Just as Murasaki is about to agree with Doro, she _________________s a faint thumping in the land below her feet.  “What’s that?” Murasaki questions Doro, a little startled.

“What’s what?” Doro asks, puzzled.

"The ground was thumping just now.  Didn't you hear it?" Murasaki asks while staring intently at the ground.

“I didn’t hear or see anything unusual.  What are you talking about?” Doro inquires as she scans the surrounding area more intently.

Thump…

         Thump thump…

                  Thump…

                           Thump thump…

The ground below Murasaki’s feet pulses even stronger, like a heartbeat.  “I can hear the pulsing of the land.” Murasaki murmurs in a soft voice.

“Wh-wh-wh-what do you mean by that?” Doro remarks in a shaky voice.

All of a sudden, Murasaki feels herself being pulled by some unknown force and her body flies straight into the caves.  Mofu tightens its claws on her shoulder and follows her in.

“MURASAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!” screams Doro as she hears the girl’s shriek.

Murasaki is pulled into the darkness of the caves and passes through the cave walls and floors as if her body were an apparition, or ghost.  She feels herself going deeper and deeper, down and down, as if into the very heart of the caves.  When she finally comes to a stop, Murasaki takes a deep breath of the chilly air surrounding her, a stark difference to the warm summer air from above, and wraps her hands around her bare arms, as her white sleeveless dress does little to keep her warm.  As her eyes quickly adjust to the darkness, she peers around her and finds a pathway up ahead, lit by the glowing stalactites—which appear to be lit from within—hanging from the high cave ceiling.

Murasaki feels a slight tug in that direction and decides to proceed cautiously.  Running one hand along the cool and smooth yet bumpy cave walls, Murasaki keeps her other hand on Mofu’s tiny soft head and whispers, “Where do you think this path will lead us to?”

When Murasaki draws closer to the end of the path, which grows brighter and wider as she proceeds, she hears the constant dripping of water droplets falling.  Finally, she reaches the pathway’s end and discovers a large, serene underground lake reflecting the moon and the stars from the night sky peering through the opening of the cave ceiling, which is hundreds of feet high.

Taking a closer look at the lake’s surface, she recognizes the stars, Orihime and Hikoboshi, and recalls the legend about the two lovers.  All of a sudden, the water’s surface begins to ripple and the shape of a young man with silver hair and scarlet eyes starts to take form.

The Twins of Fate (Part III)
by Teacher Christine

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Palace**

Tap…tap…tap…tap.  Only the sound of Genei’s pale white finger thumping on the armrest of the throne he sits upon can be heard resounding throughout the throne room.  Not even the breathing sounds of the dozen Indigo knights of Genei’s renowned ROYGBIV army can be heard, even though their shadows line the perimeter of the enormous hall.  The hall itself seemed to tremble in fear.  “Call the fortune teller,” Genei commands his right-hand-man, and most loyal follower, Tomo, a Violet knight.

“As you command, my Lord,” replies Tomo, a tall young man with platinum blonde hair and deep cerulean eyes, as he swiftly exits the room and seeks out the fortune teller.

Genei resumes to tap his finger upon his armrest as he grows bored waiting; throughout the many years of his immortal life, boredom seems to take up the majority of his time.  His mind wanders as he remembers the late King of the Kingdom of Enchantments and smiles to himself.  Sixteen years ago, King Sekai really put up a fight with Genei, as the battle between the two seemingly omnipotent individuals lasted for seven days and seven nights.  A frown forms upon Genei’s perfect, handsome face, as the memories he _________________ed of how their battle ended plays in his head. King Sekai, who was as strong and unmoving as the tallest mountain, cast a spell of deep slumber upon himself and his Queen, freezing their time and escaping the clutches of death.  Is there any other worthy opponent who can free me from my eternal boredom and move my heart of ice? Genei thinks to himself.  Further thoughts are interrupted as Tomo enters the throne room with the old fortune teller in tow.

Genei beckons the wrinkly, scrawny old fortune teller closer and asks, “Come and read my fortune to me, wise one.  I have grown bored of the throne I now possess.  Is there anything interesting that lies in my future?”

The fortune teller tugs at the chain around his neck and touches the tiny crystal, which transforms into a large crystal ball with colorful mist moving within its depths.  As the fortune teller recites a spell and moves his hands around and over the crystal ball, an image starts to appear.  The old man finally proclaims, “There is a young prince who will threaten your reign and rival your powers.  There is also a young princess who will melt your heart of ice and rule over you.  These Twins of Fate will be your downfall.”

Genei smirks in response and voices with excitement, “Things will start to get interesting around here then!”  Tomo glances at his silver-haired lord and sees the flames dancing within his scarlet eyes, anticipating how things will start to get complicated with his lord so excited like this.

**Kingdom of Enchantments, Grassy Hills**

A sharp pain continues to throb throughout his head as Naito stirs in his sleep.  The sweet scent of something fruity and floral soothes him as he reaches out a hand to rub his temple.  A cool breeze teases his midnight, blackish-blue hair as he tentatively runs a hand over the large bump, and hears a melodious voice softly ask, “Have you come to?  How are you feeling?”

Naito slowly opens his eyes to take in the sight of a goddess, hovering right over his face.  As he gets lost in the depths of her violet gaze, he suddenly realizes that he is resting on her lap and jerks up into a sitting position.  He suddenly regrets the sudden move, as a fresh wave of pain threatens to knock him out into a state of unconsciousness once again.  Once the pain subsides into a dull throbbing pain, Naito looks up and observes the land around him, noting that several hours have passed, as night has set in and the full moon is high in the sky.  “Would you like some water?” Murasaki questions as she offers a cup fashioned out of a large leaf.

It appears that she made the water from the nearby spring transportable by forming a cup out of the material on hand.  Ingenious, Naito thinks to himself, as he thanks her and gulps down the cool, refreshing liquid.

Murasaki smoothly rises from the plush grass and makes her way to her brother, facing the dark forest beyond, and hugs him from behind.  “Aoi, where are your manners?  Come join us and apologize to the poor man for knocking him out!”  Murasaki commands in a teasing tone.

Reluctantly, Aoi turns around and looks into Naito’s jade-green eyes and croaks out, “I apologize for the mishap that occurred earlier.  I just meant to take a closer look at the scroll.  I didn’t mean to bump into you, really.”  His eyes shift back onto his twin as he ponders,  “What still confuses me, though, is how powerful a little collision like that can be.  We already discussed how the difference in the gravitational forces of both worlds might be related to this sudden display in power.”

Naito nods his head in response, confirming their beliefs as he agrees, “With your bodies trained to endure the stronger gravity of the human world, your bodies are currently just barely being restrained by the force of gravity within our world.”  He points to his forehead and continues, “Which means landing a punch on me would’ve resulted in a much bigger mess.”

Just as Aoi is about to apologize again, a rustle and a flap of wings call the attention of the small group to the sky.  A small white fluffy snowball dives down and lands on Aoi’s head.  Aoi freezes and exchanges glances with his twin.  Murasaki motions for Aoi to bend down as she peers at the object nestled on his head.  Her expression suddenly brightens up as she takes in the fluffy, white puff as a baby owl.   She cups out her hands to the baby owl, which cocks its head at her and immediate hops into her palms as she coos, “You adorable thing.  Just how did you end up in my brother’s hair like that?”

Naito observes the tiny ball of fluff, nestling itself into the palms of Murasaki’s hands and replies, “It appears to have answered your call.  You see how attached it is to you already?  When you entered this world, it sensed your presence and flew all the way here to be with you.”

Aoi reaches out and questions, “I don’t get how this works, but does that mean I get an animal too?” Before his hand is able to pet the fluffy owl, it flaps its wings and extends its claws at him, as if to keep him away.  Aoi quickly withdraws his hands as he waits for Naito’s answer.

“Yes,” Naito retorts, “but her guardian animal seems to have answered the call first, and rather quickly at that.  Owls like these are found all the way on the opposite side of the world, and are known to mature into one of the stealthiest and most dangerous creatures of the sky.”

Aoi’s jaw drops at that comment.  He stares in horror at the tiny dangerous ball of fluff hovering in front of Murasaki’s face and nuzzling her cheek.  “Well,” Aoi mutters, “at least its on her side.”

Murasaki runs a delicate finger gently along the white fluffy owl and muses, “I think I will name you Mofu, because you are so soft and fluffy.  Please take care of me!”

Mofu chirps in response, as if agreeing to what she said.  Mofu flies over to her extended finger, wrapping its _________________ carefully around it and perches comfortably, as Murasaki resumes to pet Mofu.

All of a sudden, another rustle resounds from the deep woods behind them.  “Is it my animal this time?” Aoi asks in an eager voice.

A young woman, appearing to be around Naito’s age, bursts out of the forest while riding on a broomstick.  As she travels closer to the group, her shoulder-length pink hair blowing about in every which way is seen to peek out from under her black magician’s hat.  When she reaches the group, her matching pink eyes assesses the group while she voices, “You don’t look like you’re out to collect Mahou.  However, you look formidable and can definitely help me when I get my hands on the Mahou of Pocket Dimensions.  Care to join me on my hunt?”

“Mahou?” Aoi asks, as he looks at Naito for clarification.

Naito pulls out the fiery copper ring from the chain around his neck and responds, “It’ll be quicker to show you.”  All of a sudden, a ring of fire erupts out of nowhere and surrounds the young woman, who squeals at her sudden predicament.  Naito looks at Murasaki, who assesses the situation with a grave look on her face, and continues, “Mahou refers to enchanted jewelry, which have the power to do whatever it is enchanted to do.  My ring, for example, holds the power of flames.”

“And what of this Mahou of Pocket Dimensions that this woman mentioned,” Murasaki questions, while shifting her gaze from Naito to the young woman, standing stiffly as her eyes take in the flames around her.

The young woman explains, “It holds the power to make anything _________________, as this Mahou opens up another dimension that has a limitless capacity to store things.  In theory, the owner of this Mahou can even transport an entire city if it is sucked into the dimension within, and spat out at another location of this world.”

The twins’ eyes widen in fascination as they gaze at one another.  Murasaki reads Aoi’s expression and makes out his thoughts as, Makes a suitcase seem insignificant, and nods in agreement, with a miniscule smile forming on her face.

Seeing the twins’ interest on the Mahou of Pocket Dimensions, Naito remarks, “Thank you young lady, for inviting us to accompany you.  However, did you think about how revealing your treasure hunt would create complications, as others would seek out the Mahou like you are?”

The young lady shrugs and crosses her arms in front of her chest.  “Well,” she asserts, “this Mahou is resting within a very dangerous cave, so I would rather risk competition with humans after working with them to obtain it, than risk dying from the guardians protecting the Mahou.”

“I see,” Aoi mutters as he pieces together what she said.  “I am up for an adventure.”

Murasaki chimes in, “Same here, but we have yet to formally introduce ourselves.  I am Murasaki, and this here, is my brother Aoi.  The one holding you within flames is Naito.”

As Naito’s gaze rests upon Murasaki, he wills the flames to recede until they are completely extinguished from the young lady.

Being released from the flames, the young lady takes a deep breath and takes off her hat. “My name,” states the young lady, “is Dorobou.  Please call me Doro!” she ends with a bow.  With an embarrassed grin, she places her hat back on her head and shifts her gaze back to the forest, adding on, “By the way, I failed to mention to you that I was being chased by a few members of the ROYGBIV army and they should be closing in on us any minute now.  I kind of snatched a Mahou from one of the knights,” she confesses sheepishly.  “Please _________________ them from capturing me, or else all of us will end up in trouble neck deep!”

Naito appears to be unfazed, as if he already anticipated the trouble Doro brought with her, and taunts Aoi, “This is where your punch will come in handy,” as both men take up protective stances in front of Murasaki.
